Ride with us

Therapeutic riding is an opportunity to grow in confidence, connect with horses and have fun.

What we offer

Therapeutic riding

For a child with a disability, riding can be so much more than simply learning to ride a pony. It offers a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, develop balance, coordination and strength, enjoy a sense of freedom and achievement and have fun.

Every child is different, and our friendly, experienced coaches and volunteers tailor activities to each child's individual abilities and needs. Whether it's taking those first steps on horseback, learning a new skill or simply enjoying time with our lovely ponies, we aim to make every session a happy, rewarding and fun experience.

Benefits

Why riding can be so beneficial

Horse riding offers a unique combination of physical, emotional and social benefits for children with disabilities. The gentle, rhythmic movement of the horse can help improve balance, posture, coordination and core strength, while activities during lessons encourage concentration, communication and the development of new skills.

There are many physiotherapists who recommend riding and the fine tuning of exercises to help riders can really make a difference.

Just as importantly, riding can build confidence, independence and self-esteem, giving children a real sense of achievement as they progress. The special bond between horse and rider, together with the encouragement of our coaches and volunteers, makes riding an enjoyable and rewarding experience that can have benefits far beyond the riding arena.
